Women in IT Day on the International Stage:

A Glimpse into the Diverse Landscape of European Technology

The decision to elevate this year's Women in IT Day (15.11) to an
international level was a natural progression, reflecting the growing
importance and recognition the initiative has garnered. The project's
nomination for the finals of the prestigious European Digital Skills Awards
2023 in the "Women in ICT Careers" category attests to its tangible impact on
the IT sector.

This year’s Women in IT Day expanded its horizons, forging collaborations between Poland and
Brussels. Partnerships with the European Women’s Association and DIGITALEUROPE enriched the
event’s agenda, showcasing prominent leaders from the European IT sector.
This collaboration not only broadens the event’s reach but also connects with a wider spectrum of
women across Europe. Such international collaboration offers a unique opportunity to compare
different approaches to promoting women in the IT sector across European countries.
These differences, shaped by cultural diversity and varying levels of IT sector development, are
crucial for understanding the broader landscape. The international event is honored to host
distinguished speakers who will share their knowledge and experience in the field of technology.
At the event, Vanessa Gentile, founder of “Bring Women Back to Work”, will emphasize the
importance of women in the IT industry, while Raisa Ghazi, an international speaker and women’s
leadership trainer, will discuss the trust in technology as the foundation for a sustainable society and
diversity in corporations; Katarzyna Prusak-Górniak will highlight cybersecurity in the context of the
NIS2 directive, and Mani Thiru from Amazon will present prospects for women in the space
economy.
Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions on topics such as the
impact of technology, artificial intelligence, sought-after competencies, hybrid work, the tech
climate, and many others. Introducing an international perspective also allows participants from
different countries to exchange experiences and establish valuable contacts.
This can potentially accelerate the career development of many women and, we hope, contribute to
increasing diversity in the IT sector across the continent – emphasizes Joanna Pruszyńska-Witkowska,
co-organizer of the event.

The fifth edition of “Women in IT Day 2023” will be held under the theme “Technology is
transforming the world before our eyes – be part of this breakthrough!”. The event is organized by
Future Collars, an innovative digital competency school, in collaboration with the European Women’s
Association and DIGITALEUROPE. Over 50 leading companies, organizations, and media from Poland
and abroad have supported this event.
“Women in IT Day 2023” is a free online conference dedicated to women who wish to consciously
shape their IT career path. It offers eight hours of intensive programming, including lectures,
debates, meetings with potential employers, workshops, speed mentoring sessions, and a wealth of
knowledge and inspiration.
The main goal of the event is to support women in the tech sector through education, relationship-
building, and mentorship. It features leaders and experts from the Polish and European IT industry
who share their knowledge and experience. Future Collars, the main organizer, is an online
programming and digital competency school that offers unique teaching methods. It caters to both

individuals looking to change their career direction and enter the world of IT and companies seeking
effective development programs for their employees.
